Jasleen Chandhoke is an associate in Martin’s Business and Corporate practice group, focusing on mergers & acquisitions, debt and equity financing, and outside general counsel services. She brings unique professional experience in both compliance and transactional law to her role at Martin LLP.
Prior to joining Martin, Jasleen was an attorney at the global investment firm of KKR, in New York, where she focused on capital markets. In that role, she managed the day-to-day legal and compliance issues related to the negotiation, structure, and drafting of a wide range of transactions for debt capital markets, equity capital markets and public equities. Her responsibilities included handling KKR’s position in deals — liaising with the firm’s front-office teams to develop innovative deal structures that were operationally and legally workable, while
delivering suitable returns.
Jasleen also played an essential role in compliance operations, providing analysis primarily with respect to FINRA and the Securities and Exchange Commission for KKR’s registered brokerdealer. This work included managing key aspects of the compliance program, negotiating with regulators, handling routine exams and questions, and shepherding projects through the exhaustive, complex regulatory process.
At Martin, Jasleen brings her hands-on knowledge to bear on behalf of our transactional clients. She counsels both lenders and borrowers, and supports the transactions we help structure through document review, research, and execution of the necessary due diligence, as well as management of closings.
In her spare time, Jasleen is a hiker, as well as a fan of thriller novels, particularly by Patricia Highsmith. She’s also an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan, which occasions frequent disappointment and humiliation. Her loyalty, however, remains undimmed.
